Silicon Valley Career Technical Education Program

SVCTE Program

Through our partnership with Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE/MetroED), MVLA students have access to specialized, hands-on Career Technical Education afternoon programs that extend beyond the courses available at our comprehensive high schools. Students can explore high-demand career fields through industry-aligned instruction, professional equipment, and real-world learning experiences taught by experienced CTE educators. MVLA has expanded access to SVCTE from 7 to 14 student seats district wide, increasing opportunities for students to participate in programs such as Automotive Services, Transportation, Fire Science and other specialized career pathways. SVCTE provides students with an opportunity to develop technical and employability skills, explore potential careers, and prepare for both postsecondary education and the workforce while earning high school credit. These spaces are CTE grant funded, and not always available year to year. If you are interested in learning more about SVCTE, please visit their website at SVCTE at Metro Ed, and then see your high school counselor for more details. Seats are very limited, and there typically is a waitlist. Intrest lists and applications start the year prior to attendance.Transportation is typically provided depending on continued funding.
