Academic Integrity with AI
Guidance Overview
While chatbots and generative AI tools can be helpful, they are not widely used in MVLA’s classrooms. However, students aged 13 and older have access to these tools outside of school, so guidance is important. MVLA encourages families to partner with the school system to support students' use of AI tools at home. It is the responsibility of families and students to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of AI-generated content. Students must verify the accuracy of the information, use it ethically, and be aware of potential biases in AI responses. To maintain academic integrity, students must document and properly cite any AI tool used in their work.
