- About MVLA
Superintendent's Message
With great excitement and optimism, I welcome you back to the start of a new school year. Our MVLA team worked diligently to prepare our campuses and classrooms for a strong year. As a district, we will continue to pursue our principles of Academic Excellence, Equity, and Engagement at all levels.
We have some new leaders on two of our campuses this year. We welcome Dr. Kip Glazer, an experienced high school principal who comes to us from Santa Barbara County. Suzanne Woolfolk is the new Director of Alternative Programs and principal of Alta Vista Continuation High School. She comes to this role with eight years within the district as a successful Assistant Principal at Los Altos High School. We look forward to their leadership and emphasis on student success.
Mountain View Los Altos High School District is now bringing back traditions and creating new avenues to ensure our students are welcomed and well prepared for their futures. We pride ourselves on creating multiple pathways to college and career success. This year, we are introducing a ninth-grade Ethnic Studies course designed to enrich our knowledge of our diverse community and broaden our global understanding. We also have enhanced our English Learner program at Los Altos High School and continue to support those coming to MVLA in myriad ways. We are also proud to share that with the support of our MVLA Foundation have created a position to support our Career and Technical Education programs. Lastly, our continued strong academic course of study infused academic rigor, and student engagement continues to make MVLA a unique and successful place for all our students.
With appreciation,
Nellie Meyer
