Welcome to the Los Altos High School Tutorial Center!

Students can come to us to get help in all levels of school subjects; or to get prepared for quizzes, tests, and SAT/ACT exams. This is also a great place to do homework and group study where tutors, computers, and other reference materials are available. All of our services are free.

Our team consists of very knowledgeable adult volunteers who are professionals and college/high school students who are excellent in their tutoring subjects. Our links for tutors of different subjects will assist you to find a suitable tutor for your convenience.

When can I use the Tutorial Center?

When you need a place to study or get together with your group to work on  a project

When you want help with a subject

During a free period, recesses, or after school.  No appointment necessary.

Tutors can help you with:

• Proofreading written assignments
• Understanding concepts
• Completing homework assignments
• Studying for tests
• Reviewing competency test material
• Organizing materials
• Practicing a language

How do I find a tutor?

• Ask the tutorial coordinator
• Schedule an appointment.  However, drop-in is also welcome.
• Look at the tutor schedule through links above and posted in the Center – locate a tutor whose schedule matches your free time
• Look for the colored signs on the tables (tutors’ names and their specialized subjects) – have a seat

• Dictionaries , encyclopedias, reference materials
• Textbooks, AP/ACT/SAT prep books, calculators, office supplies

Tutorial service is free to all LAHS students.
