LAHS Student of the Month: Christian Martinez

Los Altos High School’s Student of the Month for September 2019 is Senior Christian Martinez, who is active on and off campus. At school, Christian is a member of the Student Community Leaders (SCL), for which he is in charge of the Mix & Mingle committee, responsible for holding new student lunches and promoting inclusion around school. Christian has also been an active member of the Latino Student Union for all four years of high school. Last year, as the vice president, Christian helped organize fundraisers and plan school events.

During the spring, Christian spends a lot of his time out on the track, where he has been on the Track team for four years and throws the shot put and discus.

Outside of his school activities, Christian balances two different jobs. Every day after school, he works at American Tires on El Camino, and on the weekends he works at Icon Movie Theater on San Antonio Road. For the past two summers, Christian has volunteered for the Stretch to Kindergarten program, where he helped prepare young students for their upcoming year as kindergarteners.

Christian’s favorite subject is math, a subject he plans to continue in college by majoring in Mechanical Engineering. As an AVID student, he will be a first generation college student.

Christian is extremely motivated and is a great presence to have at Los Altos High

School, and for that we are proud to present him as September Student of the Month.
