New Student Registration

  • Online Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is open!

    Shadow Days: Shadow Days for this year were held in early February 2019. No further shadow days will be scheduled this year.

    Placement Testing: The only placement testing that is held for Los Altos HS is for Mandarin Chinese. For all other subjects, including math, students self-select their course/level.

    2018-19 or 2019-20 New Student Registration

    Please follow the steps below.

    1. Verify your address: Your address must fall within our LAHS attendance boundaries using our online school locator tool.
    2. Fill out the online registration form.
      Who needs to fill out this form?
      • Charter or private school (even if that school is within our MVLA District boundaries.)
      • In another school outside of Los Altos Elementary or Mountain View Whisman School Districts.
      • In another school outside of MVLA High School District

        Once in the form, make sure to select the correct school year!

    3. View our Checklist of Registration Requirements
    4. Provide Registration Documents: In order to proceed and complete your child’s enrollment at LAHS, you will have to turn in ALL required documents.

      Once you have all the required documents, please email the Registrar (, and we will contact you to schedule a date and time for us to meet.

      Please bring all ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS to your intake meeting. We will make copies and return your originals.

    5. If you are entering the school district from outside Santa Clara County, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department Risk Assessment for school entry form is required (Effective 6/1/14). For more information click here.
