Mr. Todd Pearson

Todd Pearson joined the MVLA community, specifically, the Alta Vista High school team in 2006 as a physical education and math teacher. Prior to AVHS, Mr. Pearson taught math at Oak Grove High School in the East Side Union High school district. Additionally, Mr. Pearson spent over eight years working in the high tech private sector prior to making the jump to education. He believes this to be one of the best decisions he's ever made!!

Mr. Pearson earned his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and his teaching credential from National University. Along the way, Mr. Pearson picked up additional Associates Degrees in Fire Science and General Studies as well as certification and licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician. Mr. Pearson was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in collegiate athletics in both football and baseball while attending Santa Clara University and Cal Poly SLO. Dabbling in just about anything and everything, Mr. Pearson is committed to and has a passion for learning.

Mr. Pearson is responsible for the PE department and teaches several sections of math. Additionally, he provides academic counseling support for students including academic planning, course selection, and transcript analysis, as well as the creation and monitoring of Individual Learning Plans for juniors.
