MVLA Update - November 17, 2020
Dear MVLA Community,
I want to update you on new restrictions and recommendations from state and local public health officials. The news that Santa Clara County has returned to the 'purple' tier - California's most restrictive - comes as COVID-19 cases have dramatically increased across the state. Here is a summary of changes that take effect in Santa Clara County today. Under the state and county guidelines, schools may not reopen in the purple tier. (Read more here.) MVLA continues to plan for the eventual reopening of our schools when conditions allow.
We continue to follow state guidelines toward reopening. We do not know when we will be able to return, but we will be prepared with a transition and return plan. Over the course of the next several weeks, we will be holding virtual meetings and focus groups with a variety of stakeholder groups, including staff, students, and families, to share information on our current status as well as these draft plans. Please refer to
www.mvla.net for further information.
My continued thanks to our teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners for their continued dedication to MVLA and each other. I appreciate the continued creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience in which we continue to navigate these challenging times.
Nellie Meyer, Ed.D.
