Questions Answers
Can any vendor submit the proposal for one RFP---- for example, can we submit proposal for RFP 21-106   Category Two Equipment - E-rate YR 2021 (YR24) or do the vendor have to submit proposal for both RFP 21-106  and  RFP 21-110 Cabling Infrastructure ? Separate proposals need to be submitted for each RFP.
What is the amount for the performance bond and payment bond? The amount of the bond would cover the amount of the awarded bid and will be required after the bid is awarded by the MVLA Board of Trustees.  Typically, bonds are not required as a line-item for erate.
Please identify what schools are involved in the RFP All of our sites are involved:  Alta Vista High School, Los Altos High School, Mountain View High School, and MVLA Adult School
Provide addresses in each school This information is in the RFP (page 18)
Provide site maps for each school that identify:
  • MDF/IDF locations
  • Rooms to receive Cat6 cabling at each site and estimated footage
  • Rooms to receive Cat6a cabling at each location and estimated footage
  • Identify pathways as possible
  • Identify where the Single-mode fiber will be installed at each school
  • Provide estimated footage for each school for the fiber optic cable
  • Per page 19 of the RFP, a PDF map of all campuses has been uploaded into EPC
  • Approximate footage is included in the RFP
  • MVLA doesn't have the most detailed schematics for raceways, but the pathways are relatively straightforward from IDF to IDF, noting which areas each IDF feeds.
  • Single mode fiber is only to be installed from the DO data center to Alta Vista High School; from AVHS' MDF to each IDF (four total)
  • Approximate footage is in the RFP
It was stated that the RFP involves WAPs.  Please confirm. Wireless access points are already in place; any additional will be furnished.  The equipment RFP does contain requests for more wireless access points.
Are new copper patch panels required? Yes, this is specified in the RFP.
Are new LIUs required for the single-mode fiber optic cable at each school? Yes.
The district has provided estimated total footage for both copper and fiber optic cables.  Should we assume these estimates are correct and use for purposes of the quote. Yes
Is it "assumed" that a new site visit "might" be rescheduled due to the one yesterday (12/15) being stopped due to lack of information.  Please confirm. The walk was scheduled and took place.  A subsequent walk will not be scheduled.
Due to these delays and lack of information will the bid date be extended? No, the bid date will not be extended.
Will the district be providing a more specific scope of work including locations of each IDF and school site where Single-mode fiber is slated to be installed? Please check the information uploaded to the UPC website.
Will the district be proving a more specific scope of work including locations of each classroom and school site where CAT6 Cabling is slated to be installed?  Please check the information uploaded to the UPC website.
Will the district be proving a more specific scope of work including locations of each classroom and school site where CAT6a Cabling is slated to be installed?  Please check the information uploaded to the UPC website.
Will the district be proving site maps of each School site listed in the RFP to help better clarify the scope of work? Please check the information uploaded to the UPC website.
