Members of the academic decathlon club are interested in competing in the national A.D. competition- we are a group that prepares everyone interested and then sends the highest- qualifying team members to represent MVHS. Our community service project is tutoring middle school and helping them with their homework.

Apollo Music

 

Apollo Music Club is a group of dedicated and enthusiastic members who share their love of music with children who do not have the opportunity to pursue music due to financial difficulties. Club members teach music at the local Castro Elementary School.  Our club normally meets Fridays at lunch in Packard Hall.

Black Student Unification Project

Black student union is a network of African-American students that is serves to foster a genuine African-American cultural presence with the hope that this will abolish stereotypes and explain socio-types. Our community service project will be tutoring minority students at local elementary schools

California Scholarship Federation is a statewide honor society for students of high academic achievement and citizenship.  Students apply for membership twice a year based on their grades the previous semester.

Discovering your future

Discovering your future aims to broaden the horizons of high school students by inviting guest speakers from various companies and professions to speak at mountain view high school. Through these presentations, students will be able to explore the diverse and vast opportunities that are available to them if they choose to join the workforce or show interest in the profession or area of study. The guest speaker will be from a variety of fields and backgrounds, including people who went through college and those who have not. The club is a community service in itself. In addition, we plan to organize a field trip where students will be able to go on site as a shadow and have hand-on experience of what the job or profession would be like. By inviting speakers to the high school, the club is benefiting the students, MVHS, and community as a whole

The Drama Club is a group dedicated to the art of theatre.  Through activities, workshops, technical seminars and improvisation, the club explores all aspects of theatre while entertaining each other.

Environmental club aims make a positive impact on mountain view high school and the community by engaging in and promoting eco-friendly policies, practices and activities to fellow students, teachers and community members. Through team work, creativity, perseverance and dedication, club members will work toward their collective goal of a greener environment such as by spreading the word on eco-friendly practices and activities, through planning and carrying out recycle projects such as for paper and plastic to help reduce harmful wastes. Through these goals and activities , environmental club is benefiting the students, MVHS and the community as a whole

The MVHS Oracle is an independent, nonpartisan student newspaper that strives to serve the MVHS community with professional, well-rounded, unbiased coverage.  The Oracle fosters educated decision-making while adhering to the highest journalistic and ethical standards.  Our fundamental purpose is to critique, to entertain, and to provide forum for discussion by giving students a clear and honest voice.  It is our desire to express accurately the interests of our entire audience and strive to represent MVHS diversity in our content and on our staff.  The Oracle believes in voicing opinions, raising questions, and provoking thought as we inquire and investigate on behalf of the student body.  Lastly, we aspire to create unity in both the school and the surrounding community by recognizing achievements and raising awareness.

Restaurant review club

The restaurant review club is inspired by the PBS television show, “check, please! Bay area” which offers reviews of local bay area restaurants we will provide a student perspective on the restaurants around our high school, looking for quality while keeping student budgets in mind. We will catalog our findings online, and volunteer at a local soup kitchen, as an extension of our culinary loving.
