MVHS CHORAL MUSIC

Welcome to the Mountain View High School Choral Music program website!

MADRIGALS RELIEF FUND INFORMATION:
Because of the Icelandic volcano eruption, the Mountain View Madrigals Choir was stranded in Paris at the end of their planned 10-day tour. Unable to get home for an additional 7 days, the tour and its director, Jill Denny, incurred a debt exceeding $50,000 to safely house, feed and care for the 54 members of the tour. The choir returned safely home on April 23.

Thanks to the GENEROUS SUPPORT of the parents and community, the BENEFIT CONCERTS of our fellow musicians, and the HARD WORK of World Projects in getting partial insurance coverage - we have reached our goal, and have paid off our “extended tour” bills!

People from all over have stepped in to help us. We received not only monetary donations, but letters of support from members of the general community, emails with kind words from friends from out of the area, encouragement from the Administration at MVHS and the district office, and invaluable support from Madrigal Alumni and their families.

Now we have a new goal ~ to give back with acts of kindness and support to others ~ like those we have so generously received!

*Thanks to the San Francisco Choral Artists who held a Benefit Concert for MVHS Madrigals-May 15!

*Our gratitude to the Peninsulaires for generously donating the proceeds from their May 8 concerts to our Madrigals Relief Fund!
