Welcome from the Mountain View High School PTSA 

Dear MVHS family, 

The Mountain View High School PTSA welcomes you to the 2009-2010 school year!  The MVHS PTSA invites you to 

make a difference in the education and quality of life for of ALL our students at Mountain View High School. We realize 

how important your children are to you and that you want the best for them. The PTSA will help you achieve that! We all 

know that children learn more and have positive experiences when parents, school staff, students and the community all 

work together. The PTSA brings all of these groups together to share thoughts and ideas about programs and activities 

that benefit our children. 

Our PTSA provides information and resources through meetings, workshops, parent education and other 

communication materials. In order to help our children and their families, our MVHS PTSA sponsors programs and 

events such as health & safety awareness, student programs, student assistance, school directories, emergency 

preparedness, classroom enhancements, Camp Everytown, Eighth Grade Information Night, Back to School Night and 

Grad Night. 

The MVHS PTSA meets bi-monthly to hear updates about the school from the school administrators, various PTSA 

volunteers, share ideas, and manage our business.  We truly strive to make our meetings fun and interesting by offering 

presentations and updates from student organizations about/at our school while minimizing the time we spend on 

business matters.  Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 16th, at 7:00 PM in the school library.  Our 

meetings are usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month on a bi-monthly basis.  Meeting dates:  9/16/09, 11/18/09, 

1/20/10, 3/17/10, 5/19/10, and 6/16/10.  We look forward to seeing you! 

As parents, it is so important for us to be involved in our children’s high school years.  We may think they are 

independent and grown up, and don’t want us around, but they still need our support and involvement, now more than 

ever.  These are important years for them, as they are beginning to mold themselves into adults and make choices that 

often shape the direction of their future lives.  These are precious years, and our kids will soon be heading out into the 

world on their own journey through life.   Please join us in helping to make the 2009-2010 school year the best it can be 

for every one of our students! 

Please join the PTSA and participate in our Direct Appeal Campaign which funds our programs and activities. Especially 

in this year of "unprecedented-in-our-lifetime" budget cuts in education funding statewide, it is important that we show, 

through each and every family’s membership in the PTSA, that we do care and believe that education is a priority. Be 

sure to sign up for your membership on the bottom of the combined payment form. We also encourage/implore you to 

sign up to volunteer through our E-lists at  http://sharepoint.mvla.net/mvhs/Pages/default.aspxt; click on the E-lists tab at 

the left of the page. Even if you can only give a little of your time, the rewards for the students (and for you!) are ten-fold.
