The Middle College Student Profile

The Middle College student can be just about anyone. In general, students tend to fit into one or more of the following characteristics:

  • The student may be creative, artistic, individualistic.
  • The student should express a sincere interest in completing high school and going on to college, although grades and credits may indicate otherwise.
  • There may be a discrepancy between standardized test scores and grades.
  • The student should show adequate social adjustment within the high school environment, but may be dissatisfied with the environment.
  • The student is not usually tied to the home campus through participation in clubs or athletics.
  • The student may be at risk of dropping out of school.
